Requirements

Bachelor's degree or higher in computer science, business information systems. Minimum of 7+ years experience administering Oracle databases. Strong communications skills. Preferably worked with and understands open source databases. Must posses working knowledge and experience in Java, Hibernate, UML and J2EE concepts Excellent SQL skills. Excellent troubleshooting skills in SQL Server and Windows environments. Experience in a distributed environment (i.e. Unix, Windows, Linux). Experience in implementing Clustering technologies to ensure redundancy and continued operation of production systems. Experience in various database tools and software like Oracle OEM , SQL Server Enterprise Manager, Java, XML, Power Designer, ERWIN. Understanding of entire software development life cycle and willing to work within it. Ability to manage projects independently. Self starter and motivated individual.

Job Duties

Create and maintain Oracle and SQL Server databases on Windows and Unix servers including monitoring, schema management, space management, performance tuning, SQL tuning, database backup and recovery, disaster recovery, data replication, and database refresh. 5% Strong software development skills in, Java/J2EE, JSP, EJB, servlets, Hibernate, Flex, Orion, SQL Server, Oracle. 40% Strong emphasis on industry standard software development methodologies and practices. 10% Perform full life cycle support including data modeling, design and implementation of physical and conceptual models for our databases. 15% Develop data migration programs to port data from existing systems into newly developed application databases. 5%
