Group Service Projects
PREVIOUSTOP
Huntsman Cancer Institute welcomes groups interested in helping cancer patients through the programs listed below.
Graduation Blankets
These 4’ x 5’ quilts or blankets are given to patients when they finish their last treatment of chemotherapy or radiation. The quilts can be sewn and tied, or made out of fleece and have simple cut and tied edges. No used donations, please.
Hats
Cancer patients benefit from knit hats during the winter to brimmed hats and caps during the summer. These hats can be purchased or made. For sample patterns, please call Volunteer Services at (801) 581-7169. Hats should be made of soft fabric that will not irritate sensitive skin on the scalp. No used donations, please.
Attractive Scarves
Patients can use soft fabric scarves to cover their heads during hot summer months. Like the summer hats mentioned above, these donations protect sensitive skin from the damaging rays of the sun. No used donations, please.
Wigs
Attractive, stylish wigs can be cleaned and used by cancer patients who may not otherwise have access to a wig.
Magazine/Books
Current magazines or new and used books can be used in the clinical waiting rooms where patients wait for their appointments. Patients often enjoy books on cd.
Puzzle Books
Patients appreciate donated activity books while they wait for treatment or stay in the hospital. These activity books include Crossword Puzzles, Sudoku, and Word Find.
Movies
New and used DVDs can be viewed by patients staying in the hospital.
Activity Totes
